Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to the most common questions that you might have.

What are your fees?

Initial 15-minute phone consultation: Free upon request.
60-minute intake session: $200
50-minute therapy sessions: $190
30-minute therapy sessions: $140

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept cash, check, credit card, and FSA\/HSA cards.

Do you accept health insurance?

My practice is a private pay practice, and I do not bill insurance directly for my services. I am considered an out-of-network provider. This means that if you have out-of-network benefits you may be eligible for full or partial reimbursement for your therapy services by your insurance company. If this is indeed the case, I am happy to provide you with a monthly receipt you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

I advise all clients interested in out-of-network reimbursement to contact their insurance provider directly for more information. Here are some important questions to ask your insurance company:

  • Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
  • Is any pre-approval required before obtaining out-of-network mental health services in order to be reimbursed?
  • If I have out-of-network benefits, will I be reimbursed the full amount I paid or a portion?
  • Do I have a deductible and if so, what is it?
  • What do you need for me to submit for reimbursement?
What is your availability?

Though availability may change slightly from week to week, my typical hours are Mondays through Fridays between 8 AM and 5 PM.

What if I have to move or cancel an appointment?

I understand that things come up, so you can always feel free to cancel or reschedule your appointment with at least 24 hours notice. If it’s less than 24 hours notice, you will be charged for the appointment. This policy may be waived in emergency situations.

What should I expect during our first visit?

During the initial session, we will review paperwork and I will gather background information to understand what brings you to treatment and what your goals are.

This session is also a chance for you to ask me any questions you may have about the therapy process or what it’s like working with me. For parents of teen clients, we can decide together prior to the appointment whether it makes sense to meet with or without the children for the initial appointment.
